Three LeisureCraft collections, different fit problems

Dundalk LeisureCraft Sauna: Compare Barrel, Cabin, Pod & Cube

LeisureCraft's sauna catalog spans three collections and several shapes. Separate the material, geometry, hot-room dimensions and heater options before choosing a model.

LeisureCraft has three collections with different material and design logic

“Dundalk LeisureCraft” is often used as a broad shopping phrase, but LeisureCraft's current sauna catalog is divided across the Dundalk Collection, Canadian Timber Collection and Pure Cube Collection. Those collections do not simply rename the same sauna. They use different wood strategies, shapes and architectural approaches.

The Dundalk Collection is the original Western Red Cedar line. Canadian Timber is centered mainly on Eastern White Cedar and related woods. Pure Cube moves toward insulated modular walls, large glass areas and modern flat-roof geometry. Start with the collection and shape before comparing decorative options.

Barrel sizing is unusually transparent on the current product page

LeisureCraft's current Dundalk barrel page publishes five barrel lengths, from roughly 4 feet through 10 feet, all around an 84-inch exterior diameter. It also publishes interior depth, interior volume and whether electric or wood heat is available for each size. That is exactly the kind of source-backed comparison SaunaSelector prefers.

The smallest current barrel is listed at about 117 ft³ and electric-only, while longer versions add substantially more interior volume and can support wood-heater options. Porch and changeroom additions also extend the exterior length without simply increasing the hot-room volume.

Porch and changeroom options change site footprint more than heater sizing

A porch can add useful seating or transition space outside the heated room. A changeroom adds a separate enclosed section. These options can materially increase the overall structure length while leaving the hot-room calculation tied to the actual heated interior volume.

That distinction is important for site planning: use the full exterior dimensions for the foundation and access path, but use the heated-room dimensions for the heater-size calculation.

Western Red Cedar and Eastern White Cedar should not be collapsed into “cedar”

LeisureCraft's current collection comparison identifies Western Red Cedar as central to the Dundalk Collection and Eastern White Cedar as the core Canadian Timber material. They differ in color, density and appearance. The right comparison is the exact model's construction, not a generic statement that all LeisureCraft saunas use the same cedar.

Pure Cube introduces another architecture, including insulated modular walls and large glass panels. That again changes the heater-sizing and installation conversation.

Heater availability depends on the exact model and size

LeisureCraft's barrel data explicitly shows that electric heaters are available across current sizes while wood heat is not available on the smallest configuration. Other cabin and pod models have their own heater options. Do not transfer heater availability from one model family to another.

For a traditional electric configuration, use Electric Sauna Heater. For a stove/chimney project, use Wood-Burning Sauna Heater.

Which LeisureCraft collection fits which buyer?

Dundalk

Best starting point when Western Red Cedar and classic barrel/cabin/pod forms are central to the purchase.

Canadian Timber

Useful when Eastern White Cedar and value-oriented Canadian-built barrel/cabin forms are preferred.

Pure Cube

Best fit when modern glass-forward architecture and modular insulated wall construction matter more than classic cedar-sauna styling.

Assembly options should be compared with the exact collection

LeisureCraft publishes model-specific assembly resources, and the construction sequence differs across barrels, cabins, pods and Pure Cube products. Before ordering, confirm which pieces arrive pre-cut or preassembled, how the roof/weather system is completed, and which work remains for the heater, chimney or electrical installation. A familiar LeisureCraft brand name does not make those assembly scopes interchangeable.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Dundalk, Canadian Timber and Pure Cube?

They are LeisureCraft collections with different materials and design directions. Dundalk centers on Western Red Cedar, Canadian Timber uses mainly Eastern White Cedar, and Pure Cube uses a more modern modular/glass-forward architecture. Verify the exact model because wood and construction can vary within the broader LeisureCraft catalog.

Does Dundalk LeisureCraft only make barrel saunas?

No. Current LeisureCraft lines include barrels, panoramic barrels, cabins, pods, Luna-style rounded cabins, indoor saunas and modern cube products across its collections.

Can I choose a LeisureCraft sauna by person capacity?

Capacity is only a starting filter. Compare exact interior depth, bench arrangement, porch or changeroom options, heater type and exterior footprint.

Do LeisureCraft saunas support wood-burning heaters?

Some models and sizes do, while smaller configurations may be electric-only. The current product page identifies heater availability by exact size and configuration.
